'Fragrant Blue' Hosta is a medium sized hosta with chalky blue leaves that hold the blue color due to the tendency of producing new foliage throughout the growing season. Nice blue leaves have some corrugation and a gentle waviness to the margin. This is one of our favorite blue hostas for its vigor and tendency to hold the blue late into the season.Fragrant Blue Hosta is a dense herbaceous perennial with tall flower stalks held atop a low mound of foliage. Plants form a sturdy mound of foliage, topped with lilylike blooms. This midsized selection has heartshaped bluegreen leaves. Fragrant pale lavender flowers appear in midsummer. Suitable also for planting in mixed containers or tubs. Hosta go completely dormant in the fall, and the dying foliage can be removed any time before mid spring.
Hosta 'Fragrant Blue (SM) This small to medium sized hosta has very powdery blue turning bluegreen, heart shaped leaves. An additional common name for plants in this genus is plantain lily (foliage is somewhat plantainlike and flowers are somewhat lilylike in some species). 'Fragrant Blue' features a mound of flat, heartshaped, powdery bluegreen leaves with racemes of funnelshaped, white flowers on 20 scapes. Imported into the United States in the 1980's this quickly became a collectors item.
